My first headshot session of the academic year was arranged with two organists I know in Edinburgh. One of the requirements was, of course, an organ in the background, which does restrict your venue choice! Fortunately one of our options was the beautiful Old Saint Paul's Episcopal Church on Jeffrey Street. I've been to the church many times to attend concerts so I was keen to get a chance to take some photos without disrupting an audience - although we ended up with a steady stream of tourists interested in what was going on anyway.
Headshots are rapidly becoming my favourite type of photography work - you get a lot of creative input, and get a real chance to take some (hopefully) meaningful portraits. I certainly enjoyed spending the morning with John, Dorien and a bit of Bach in the background.
