I recently had the pleasure of trying a slightly different portrait shoot. Louise, a local pilates teacher, approached me requesting some pictures she could use for her website & flyers. We sorted out access to a pilates studio for the shoot given that it was February, a precaution that paid off when it started lightly snowing on the morning we'd arranged.
Normally when I'm doing headshots the biggest time pressure on a pose is that their cheek muscles might hurt or they could get a bit bored if I don't keep it interesting. Here, my main concern was getting the set-up polished so Louise wouldn't have to repeat some tough pilates exercises whilst I fiddled about with lighting. She was a great sport - literally - and we both got quite a workout as I pulled some interesting poses trying to get the right angles.
You can find Louise's website at www.pilateslou.com where there is information on booking classes with her on pilates or expressive writing - and you can also see some more of my photographs. She's moving to York soon, so if anyone from there is reading this and fancies flexing their skeletal or cerebral muscles, please get in touch with her.
